We advise on all aspects of employment law in Singapore, including drafting and reviewing of employment contracts and agreements relating to confidentiality and ownership of intellectual property rights, advising on employee incentives, benefits and compensation schemes, and termination of employment.
We also act in cases where there is an employment-related dispute such as termination or summary dismissal scenarios, or in litigation involving breaches of confidentiality, non-competition and restraint of trade issues. Our contentious work has included application for urgent injunctions or restraining orders where former employees have embezzled funds or set up competing businesses using intellectual property or confidential information of the former employers.
Our work in this area also encompasses assisting foreign companies and individuals to establish business operations and headquarters in Singapore, applying for the relevant employment passes and work permits and permanent residency status.
The clients we have acted for in the area of employment law include foreign and local companies from a wide range of industries as well as individuals seeking to protect or enforce their rights.
- Advised a local company whose consultant had left the employment of the company and improperly taken some confidential information. We were able to obtain an injunction on an urgent basis and prevented the former consultant from using that confidential information in his overseas operations and effectively halted acts which would have been very detrimental to the business of our clients.
